Sherlock - It’s an absolutely brilliant BBC series based on a “modern” Sherlock Holmes.

The outfits and fashion styles they have been using in that show are just stellar. One piece in particular that caught my eye, was “Dr. John Watson’s” jacket.

Military inspired, yet plain and simple, with a few extra touches that I really love, such as the shoulder patch, and the elbow patches. I needed this jacket. But who makes it? They certainly don’t specify in the show credits.

Some time and about 100 different Google search strings later - I found it.

Haversack - Black Cotton Shooting Jacket

Originally an astonishing 725GBP, now down to a ‘paltry’ 218GBP - this gem could be mine. For that sum of money I can be running around yelling “Sherlock!” in an annoyed tone.

Well, 218GBP is about $350 Canadian bucks. (Plus shipping, duty, etc.) - my dreams of owning this jacket have been shattered. But hey, it’s nice to know who makes it, it’s construction, and if I didn’t feel like paying my phone bill, gassing up my car, and eating for a week or so… it could be mine. (It’s also sold out too, so there’s that)

I’ll just admire it from my end of the computer screen instead.

A Q&A With BBC’s environment correspondent uncovers the sad reminder that human pollution can have real effects on animal populations.
Nearly 1/3 of all Midway Atoll Albatross chicks will die on that island before ever reaching adulthood. This is because they are mistakenly fed plastic by their parents, at such high levels that it kills them. Nearly all birds on the islands have some plastic in their digestive system.
Think about that next time you toss a water bottle.
